The appearance of a shadow on the ground is a giveaway to how far an object is away from it. If the Apache appears nearly the same size, it is nearly touching the ground. In this image, the Apache is about 30 feet over the desert floor. The other giveaway is the proximity of the objects on the ground but these are not easily interpreted in this desert scene.
